Slice 'n' Easy

Urbino Pizza e Pasta Opens

Hey, urbanite, meet Urbino.

Smack between Louie’s Pizza and Fireside Pies, Urbino has planted itself in a hood that already has pizza aplenty. But the resto carves out its own slice.

Nothing frozen, nothing out of a can. The pastas are fresh, and the pizza dough gets its nutty, hearty note from an ingredient owner David Pedack (Samba Room) tries to keep on the down low: flaxseed.

Most dishes are made for sharing — crackling-hot flatbreads straight from the wood-burning oven, salads made with microgreens from local purveyor Tom Spicer.

And the convivial spot makes it easy, what with the seven-foot-long community tables with broad benches and cozy midcentury modern-meets-rustic farmhouse vibe.

Crust us.

Urbino Pizza e Pasta, 2323 North Henderson Avenue (214-821-0044 or urbinopizza.com).
