Add It Up

With the right gear, getting the kids off to school is as easy as one, two, three.

1. Wish them luck.
In Germany, parents celebrate the first day of school by giving kids a Schultüete, a decorated cone filled with school supplies and goodies for good luck (The Gypsy Wagon, 5211 Bonita Avenue; 214-370-8010).

2. Pack in the fun.
Haul supplies to and fro in a Dabbawalla bag (Babybliss, 6721 Snider Plaza; 469-232-9420). The brightly colored totes with charming designs are made of cushy, PVC-free fabric that can be thrown in the wash.

3. Stash a surprise.
Sweeten lunchtime with a Krazy Kritters drink (The Soda Gallery, 408 North Bishop Avenue, Oak Cliff; 214-946-7632). The zany animal bottles are filled with low-cal vitamin drinks (try wild flavors like Apey Grapey and Dino Melon) that both you and your half-pint will agree on.
