Last Chance Saloon & Restaurant Opens

When Mom said “last chance,” nothing good was in the cards.

Last Chance Saloon & Restaurant in quaint downtown Plano deals a different hand.

Owners Marc Rutstein and Tony and Roberta Landi are originally from New York, but you can just keep that tucked under your cowboy hat. Their sweet little mom-and-pop bar and resto is countrified with a dark wood interior, three-foot-tall boot-shaped planter, and a TV streaming Rawhide and Bonanza.

On weekends, they host country crooners and NASCAR-watching parties. For grub, they’re all about the simple things like burgers, wings, and cheese fries. We heart the bargain dollar bowl of beans laced with onions and jalapenos. Oh, and Sabrett hot dogs (famous for their natural casing) imported from New York.

No worries: They serve ’em deep-fried.

A spade’s a spade.
