You’re used to floating on grass.
Make your medicine water at Adrift Float Spa.
The swanky Preston Road retreat has no lavender oil, massage tables, or scary facial contraptions. Expect only a relaxation room and four float cabins.
Huh? Here’s how it works: Slip on a robe and enjoy a fifteen-minute, full-body massage from a comfy, zero-gravity chair. Then enter a room tailored to your personality, from the music (we chose the Enya-type playlist) to the lighting.
From there, pop in earplugs, take a quick rinse, and enter the pool filled with body-temperature water and Epsom salt. You’ll instantly float in the large tub that fits up to two (if you choose the couple’s session).
Feeling a little tense at first is totally normal. But get into a relaxation zone and the benefits include decreased anxiety, enhanced creativity, and even elevated pleasure under the sheets.
Put that in your pipe and smoke it.
Adrift Float Spa, 8315 Preston Road (214-363-5628 or adriftfloatspa.com), $89-$139. Mention DailyCandy when you book by April 30 and take home an Adrift bath salt jar.
