“Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week is so calm and relaxing.” — No one, ever
But despite the lack of sleep, we get a rush when the models start down the runway.
That’s why we teamed up with the Style Network to bring you StyleCandy’s Runway Takeaway videos. Each day, we showcase outstanding styles that we think will evolve into full-blown trends, from one of our favorite designers.
We spotted symmetrical prints at Lela Rose, menswear inspiration at Kaelen, and ’70s florals at Chris Benz (above, and yes, that is Susan Sarandon and her dogs). Plus, each designer gave us styling tips, from shoes you shouldn’t wear with flared pants (Rebecca Minkoff) to advice for wearing statement pieces (Erin Fetherston).
We hope you’ll be inspired to channel these looks now. Spring 2013 feels too long to wait.
You can quote us on that.

You know in The Notebook when Rachel McAdams first meets Ryan Gosling, and you’re like “This could never work!” and then it’s the sweetest love story of our time?
Well, this video is basically the same thing. In today’s First Date, our woman about town, Lauren Lumsden, goes out with Billy Eichner, host of Fuse’s hit show Billy on the Street. The meet-cute happens at Manhattan’s East 12th Osteria, where they talked about Tinder, pickup lines, and Meryl Streep.
Okay, so maybe it’s a little more like The Bridges of Madison County.
Billy on the Street airs Wednesdays at 11 p.m. ET on Fuse. For more information, go to fuse.tv. Want more romance? Watch our date with Orange Is the New Black’s Matt McGorry.
We just met the love child of Dr. Quinn and Katniss Everdeen, with a little Tris Prior mixed in.
She’s Georgia Pellegrini, author of the new book Modern Pioneering. And though she hunts, fishes, and forages with the best of ’em, her East Austin home is far from a log cabin full of animal heads.
In today’s Inside Story video, the New Yorker-turned-Texan shows us around her lofty space, from the old Stetsons repurposed as wall art to the antique Nancy Drew collection.
Like us, she seems to have a thing for independent women.
For more from Pellegrini, go to georgiapellegrini.com. Buy her book at amazon.com, and if you really want to get to know her (you should), go on one of her adventure getaways.
Maybe you’re planning to hit the music festival circuit this spring. Maybe you’re chained to your desk with headphones on, just dreaming of it. Either way, who can refuse a VIP ticket?
Here’s yours, courtesy of DJ Mia Moretti, Olay Fresh Effects, and DailyCandy. Mia takes you behind the scenes as she gears up for the festival season ahead, sharing what keeps her looking well rested and feeling her “best beautiful” from late nights to early mornings.
Because the beat doesn’t stop.
To learn how Mia stays #FestivalFresh from Miami to Palm Springs and beyond, check out the VIP Festival Pass: DJ Mia Moretti series, presented by Olay Fresh Effects. #FreshAMGirls
She’s got a dog named Paco. She’s having a baby boy with Jason Sudeikis. She surfs.
Actress Olivia Wilde is one of the cooler people around. In today’s Care Package video, we pay tribute to our girl crush with a few gifts we think she’d dig.
If you like what you see (especially since everything is less than $100), check out the presents we picked out for Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o and supermodel Karlie Kloss.
They’d make a heck of a team.

To those who say mugging for the camera every day is the easiest job in the world: Watch this video and you’ll feel differently.
In today’s 5 Questions interview, Lydia Hearst tells us the most painful thing she’s done in the name of fashion — and let’s just say it isn’t pretty. While we had her, she also shared her biggest indulgence (don’t worry; it’s not pretzels) and her thoughts on selfies.
Which, as we all know, are extremely difficult to get right.
The Face airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET. For more information, go to the-face.oxygen.com.

It’s a bird. It’s a plane. Okay, it’s not Superman, but — perhaps just as heroically — it will keep your children outside and away from the TV for a while.
In today’s video, we show you how to make miniature kites out of fabric and dowel rods. When your tots tucker out, the crafts double as wall decor, especially when you create multiples in different sizes and fabrics.
Once you have all your supplies (available at any craft store), the project takes about ten minutes from start to finish.
Almost as fast as a speeding bullet.
Want to keep playing? Check out our video on three ways to play with marbles fun.
If you didn’t get emotional during her acceptance speech for Best Supporting Actress, you were probably watching True Detective.
We’d take Lupita Nyong’o over Rust Cohle any day. Which is why the actress is the object of our affection in today’s Care Package video, the new series in which we select gifts we think our favorite celebs would like.
From our favorite bright lipsticks to a little pendant of her homeland, we’re sure she’ll like our surprises/belated birthday gifts (she turned 31 on March 1).
Does anyone know the shipping address for cloud nine?
Want more? Check out what we sent supermodel Karlie Kloss.
What do Leonardo DiCaprio and our ring finger have in common? Unfortunately, it’s not a diamond.
Using easy-to-find graphic paper and a little know-how, we put his face — and the rest of the Best Actor/Actress Oscar nominees’ — on our phalanges. In this Pretty Smart video, we show you the trick.
Not so keen on having Hollywood’s who’s who at your fingertips? Don’t worry: The how-to works for any photo. One of our editors did memes (Grumpy Cat got a thumbs-up); another did emojis. The possibilities are endless.
Just like our love for Leo.

We love giving gifts. Especially if finding them requires us to “research” gossip mags at work.
Introducing DailyCandy Care Package, our new video series in which we compile items for our favorite famous folks based on what we think they might like. First up is Karlie Kloss, who surely needs a picker-upper right now while jaunting from catwalk to catwalk (okay, so her life isn’t too shabby, but whatever).
From a sweatshirt showing off her Midwestern roots to a cookbook that’ll satisfy her documented affinity for breakfast, we box up a bevy of objects she’s sure to love. And nothing costs more than $60.
Which means we might end up getting a few things for ourselves in the process.
Playing with marbles over other toys seems like choosing rice over filet mignon. Or easy listening over Jay Z. Or snow angels over slopestyle.
Today’s video restores our interest in the simple spheres. We’ve got a trio of ways to use them that you’ve probably never considered: a game, an art project, and a maze. All are easy to construct and keep kids entertained for hours.
We know this because our young model, Scarlet, kept on rolling long after the camera stopped.
She could have chosen anything else.

Sure, Corrections Officer Bennett gets his secret inmate girlfriend pregnant on Orange Is the New Black, but he’s still the show’s hot guy.
The actor behind the handsome lothario is Matt McGorry, and it’s not every day we get to talk to such a charming fellow. Instead of doing a standard interview, we thought (selfishly), Why not make it a date? So we did.
In today’s first (and, we hope, not last) First Date with … video, we go to one of New York’s best date spots, Commerce, and ask McGorry an array of questions that might make a lesser gentleman flee: Do you have tattoos? How much do you bench? And, of course, what’s your shoe size?
We did not, however, ask him how he feels about handcuffs.
Rumor has it Orange Is the New Black returns for a second season on Netflix in June. For more interviews with familiar faces, check out our sit-downs with gymnast Nastia Liukin, actress Zoey Deutch, and model Coco Rocha.

Most women have at some point in their lives (whether for fifteen minutes or fifteen years) dreamed of being an Olympic gymnast.
That’s why we flipped/aerialed/back-handspringed at the opportunity to sit down with Nastia Liukin, five-time medalist, now reporting for NBC Sports in Sochi, Russia. In today’s 5 Questions video, we ask her what it’s like to wear a leotard in front of millions, if she prefers Lochte or Phelps, and what song she would like to compete to.
Liukin, who lives in NYC and attends NYU, is tied with greats Shannon Miller and Mary Lou Retton for most medals won by a U.S. gymnast at the games.
We give her an all-around perfect score.
For more from Liukin, follower her on Instagram and Twitter. For more 5 Questions videos, check out our talks with Vampire Academy star Zoey Deutch, nutritionist Kimberly Snyder, and actress Greta Gerwig.
If the words strigoi and moroi mean anything to you, we’d probably be friends. You’re also probably 16.
Whatever. If loving YA vampire books is wrong, we don’t want to be right. Which is why we were excited to sit down with 19-year-old Zoey Deutch, star of Vampire Academy, the new movie based on the best-selling books by Richelle Mead.
In this video, the actress teaches us to pronounce difficult words from the book; dishes on her pet, Stinky Pete (real name); and tells us about the best Valentine’s Day she ever had — when she was 14.
Now, if you’ll excuse us, we’ve got to go read War and Peace.
To watch the trailer and find showtimes for Vampire Academy (out Friday), go to va-movie.com.
A couple of ground rules for February 14: Don’t get a man a tie (unless he specifically requests it) and don’t get a woman a gym membership (even if she specifically requests it).
SuChin Pak and Mike Bender, who’ve been married two years, learned this lesson the hard way. That’s why, in today’s Currently Coveting video, they reveal their Valentine’s Day wishes ahead of time.
SuChin’s picks are conventional compared with Mike’s, whose choices (a water purifier?) suggest a fondness for Bear Grylls. It’s no surprise he’s the founder of website Awkward Family Photos.
Let’s hope his advice doesn’t result in a bunch of new submissions.

On Instagram, the sky is blue, we always have fresh flowers, and every meal is a masterpiece. In reality, we’re eating burritos (plural) in bed, watching Pretty Little Liars.
And then there’s the world of our guest editor, Glitter Guide editorial director Caitlin Moran, whose picturesque online life isn’t just show. For proof, we got a tour of the one-story casa where she lives with her fiance.
From the perfectly arranged bar cart to her bright and cheerful office, nothing is staged — but nothing is intimidating, either. Maybe that’s because she’s an expert at blending vintage finds with stuff she gets at — no joke — Target.
No filter needed.
For more about Moran, check out our interview, her beauty essentials, and her ten favorite things. And, of course, go to theglitterguide.com.
Even with fancy apps and filters, it can take up to 30 attempts to get one Instagram-worthy shot of the kids. (There just isn’t a shutter speed fast enough for some wiggle worms.)
The point-and-shoot advice in today’s video will save you time and gigabytes. From incorporating props to opting for less posed moments, these tips get you so many good photos you’ll be dizzy when it’s time to send holiday cards again. They even tell you the best time of day to start clicking.
That’s something to like.

Feels like just a minute ago it was 2011.
Time flies when you’re having babies, er, fun. In today’s video, we show you how to make the beginning of 2014 a standout good time with three kid-friendly party ideas: a festive hat, a confetti launcher, and a fizzy cranberry-lemonade punch.
All are easy (you probably have most of what you need around the house), and none takes more than ten minutes to make.
Since time is always ticking.
If New Year’s Eve hype matched the reality, we’d all be making out with Gosling front row at a Beyoncé concert as the ball dropped.
Alas. We can at least make the truth easier to bear with four holiday party staples picked by our team. In today’s video, fashion editor Jordan Blumberg shares her favorite sparkly dress, beauty editor Jennifer Jackson shows off which lipstick and nail polish she plans to wear, and senior editor Lauren Lumsden imbibes her champagne of choice.
All can be purchased online (or in person if you’re in NYC) in plenty of time for the big party.
If only they could be delivered by a Hemsworth.
Hard Rock. Absolut. Abercrombie. Life Is Good. G.R.I.T.S. [Insert Greek letters here.]
Jewelry designer/DIY phenom Kate Albrecht, a.k.a. Mr. Kate, knows exactly what to do with all those old T-shirts taking up drawer space: In today’s video, she shows senior editor Lauren Lumsden how to make a statement scarf (okay, it toes the necklace line).
We used red and white in the video for a candy cane look (also great for Valentine’s Day), but feel free to use any colors you want. Besides the tees, all you need are scissors and ten minutes.
Have No Fear.

Fun fact: Lauren Moffatt produced her first collection on the boat she lived on, which was docked in the Hudson River.
Since then, she has moved her operation ashore, but her classic yet spunky aesthetic still sets her apart from the crowd. In this video installment of Influence Your Style, presented by Moto X, she lets you behind the scenes of her Chelsea design studio and discusses what inspired her fall collection.
Check out Moffatt’s inspiration board mainstays here, and shop her collections at laurenmoffatt.net.
