Sun of a Gun!
OVER THE WIRE
Everybody loves the sunshine. Sadly, the sunshine doesn't love everybody back. Renata Helfman, makeup artist and owner of Vert ecoapothecary shares some of her skin-saving beauty picks for summer.

- Garden party down in pastel nail polishes from Priti.
- L'Eau de Jatamansi from L'Artisan is a clean-smelling scent made with the namesake calming herb found in the Himalayas.

Keys Sunscreen & Redicare "I'm in love with Sola-Rx," says Helfman. Founded by Miamian Wendy Steele after she was diagnosed with melanoma, the company makes an SPF 30 that is chemical free and provides UVA, UVB, and UVC protection -- creating two (count 'em, two) physical blocks against the sun's harmful rays. Redicare's a miracle spritz for sunburns and rashes as well as an insect repellent rolled into one. "You can even use it on your dogs hot spots," she says. In fact, the company initially developed the product for dogs and their owners suffering from itching and skin disorders post-Hurricane Katrina.
