Devon Does Midtown

MIDTOWN — The '90s are back and this time, stark minimalism — not grunge — is the starting point. Up-and-comer Lyn Devon (favored by the Hollywood starlets) departed from her trademark breezy frocks to present a collection inspired by medieval armor.

Standing on pedestals in the middle of the first-floor gallery space (while onlookers sipped champagne and shoveled delicious crab cakes into their mouths), the models showed off Devon's hard-edge mix of military-inspired separates: zip-up turtleneck coats in navy, bright orange quilted skirts, and crystal-encrusted black dresses — all paired with Frye lace-up combat boots, wooly knee-high socks, and raver-inspired plastic bangles.
