VPL Victoria Bartlett

Held in the house of Bumble, Victoria Bartlett's comfy-meets-corseted clothing line looked right at home against a backdrop of concrete floors and gray-sky windows. There were bursts of color — oranges and blues mixed up with sandy leggings and frocks and gorgeous graphics to make even the most prudent personality long to wear her underwear as outerwear. The designer, who was recovering from the flu, could not have been more excited about her show. (Though Cory Kennedy, who appeared to be recovering from a hangover, didn't even crack a smile with her double gift-bag score. Perhaps she was turned off by the runway soundtrack. Yoko Ono can do that to people.)
