Brunch in the Great Outdoors on Mother's Day

Check Out the View at These Spots

Mom’s the sunshine of your life. Let her bask in a little light at one of the city’s newest outdoor dining spots, all serving brunch this Sunday (reservations recommended).

Deuxave
Make like multigenerational moguls and settle into the urbane, 35-seat brick veranda for a decadent prix fixe spread of beef tartare, butter-poached lobster, and strawberry and rhubarb galette ($65, noon-8 p.m.).

Canary Square
She consoled you through chicken pox and lousy SAT scores. Return the favor with comfort fare (smoked onion and potato frittatas, bacon Bloody Marys) on the street-side patio. For a bucolic late afternoon, grab the light picnic ($14) and head to the lilac fest at the arboretum (10:30 a.m.-3 p.m.).

Met Back Bay
The sunken Newbury Street courtyard (pictured) is great for surreptitious shoe-watching and enjoying a la carte specials like pork-stuffed hash browns and the kitchen sink chopped salad. Heat lamps are at the ready if relations get chilly (10 a.m.-3 p.m.).

Legal Harborside
The no-fail Mama’s Day trifecta: oysters, bubbly, and elevated water views. The just-opened first floor of this soon-to-be-massive institution includes ample balcony seating. Make a debauched day of it by deck-hopping to nearby newbies Temazcal, Strega, and Del Frisco’s (11 a.m.-10 p.m.).
