Bands We Want to See at the Gorge

sasquatch music festival gorge ampitheatre!

We’re headed to Washington’s Gorge Amphitheatre this holiday weekend. Here’s a guide to Sasquatch Fest’s must-see artists and where you’ll find them (and us) each day.

JUST GOT PAID, IT’S FRIDAY NIGHT
Pitch your tent in the ground and get your party on.
Death from Above 1979: The unsung dance-punk band has reunited and aims to knock your socks off. (Sasquatch stage, 8 p.m.)
Foo Fighters: They put on a good ol’ rock show, period. (Sasquatch stage, 9:30 p.m.)

Death Cab for Cutie headlines, but these up-and-comers also deserve a listen.
Sharon Van Etten: Acoustic, introspective songs of heartbreak for you and your sleeping bag buddy. (Bigfoot stage, 4:05 p.m.)
Wye Oak: Wistful, bracing indie rock by way of B-more. (Yeti stage, 5:40 p.m.)
The Antlers: The Brooklyn crooners debuted the album Burst Apart in full at SXSW. Now’s your chance to sing along. (Bigfoot stage, 6:20 p.m.)

LAZY SUNDAY
There are plenty of great bands to check out (Beach House, Yeasayer, Flying Lotus, The Drums), but pencil in time for an unforgettable eve with the headliner.
The Flaming Lips: Feel like a big kid in Wayne Coyne’s Technicolor dream. (Sasquatch stage, 8 p.m.)

Let the good times roll.
Givers: They have a fun psych-rock sound. Think Vampire Weekend with a girl in the mix. (Bigfoot stage, noon)
Best Coast: The SoCal gal makes you feel like you have sand in your toes. Her tweets (@bestycoastyy) are our guilty pleasure. (Yeti stage, 6:45 p.m.)
Surfer Blood: A new EP in the works means song premieres from the guitar-riffing, shy guys. (Bigfoot stage, 6:20 p.m.)
Major Lazer: End with a bang and bounce to “Pon de Floor.” Even Beyoncé had to sample it for her latest girl anthem. (Banana Shack, 9:30 p.m.)

Print off and stash this handy guide in your suitcase, then download our mixtape before you go.
