We’re just about halfway through the year, and you’ve stuck to exactly none of your New Year’s resolutions. Caroline Gonzalez-Bunster, founder of Walkabout Foundation, will get you back on track.
Resolution No. 1 — Get Fit
Take part in a five- or fifteen-kilometre sponsored walk through London’s Royal Parks. The foundation’s first city event takes place next Saturday (18 June) at 10 a.m. and is open to walkers and wheelchair riders.
Resolution No. 2 — Help Others
The walk will raise money to help purchase wheelchairs specifically designed for the rough terrain of developing countries.
Resolution No. 3 — Make More Money
The event is free, but participants are encouraged to raise as much as they can (£10 buys a wheel; £200, a full wheelchair). Register by creating a fundraising page on The Walkabout Foundation website and start pestering your 795 Facebook friends to dig deep. (Feel free to name and shame the ones who don’t.)
Resolution No. 4 — Meet New People
An estimated 350 people will take part, so you are bound to find someone to bond with.
A feel-good bonus? Everyone who walks will get a goodie bag filled with stuff from Net-a-Porter, Lola’s Cupcakes, Vitaminwater and others.
It’s so easy, you might even call it a walk in the park.
