Water, water everywhere, but not a drop you’ll drink.
Why would you when you could imbibe a refreshing Caribbean Navy Swizzle courtesy of Jan Warren, bartender at PKNY. It will put the breeze in your sails, but be wary: One too many and the trade winds won’t be the only thing blowing over.
Caribbean Navy Swizzle
Serves one
Ingredients
¾ oz. fresh lime juice
¾ oz. orgeat
¼ oz. cinnamon syrup
1 oz. Pusser’s British Navy rum
1 oz. mezcal
Angostura bitters
1 cinnamon stick
1. Dry shake lime juice, orgeat, cinnamon syrup, rum, and mezcal. Pour into a pilsner or highball glass.
2. Top with crushed ice and swizzle.
3. Float Angostura (5-6 heavy dashes) and lightly swizzle again.
4. Top with crushed ice and grated cinammon. Garnish with a cinammon stick.
