Rockabye Baby Front to Back

The So-Ro Cradle

so-ro cradle!

It happens to the best of us: one too many martinis with dinner and when you lie down in bed you get the spins. Turns out traditional cradles might have the same effect on your little one.

According to neurological studies, circular motion causes dizziness in babies, while front-to-back rocking is soothing. Based on this finding, Norwegian occupational therapist Ane Lillian Tveit created the So-Ro, a forward-motion cradle and model of Scandinavian simplicity.

In addition to enhancing sleep (for the babe, thus, for you), the So-Ro’s birch body and form-follows-function design fits right in among your tasteful furnishings. Options include walnut or white finishes and a side-by-side model with a removable barrier for twins.

Because happy babies — and maybe one glass of wine — make for happy parents.

Available online at so-ro-cradle.com, single, $800; twin, $1,200.
