Dana Alikhani and Tatiana Santo Domingo, on the other hand, scour the world to bring back ethically produced fashion and housewares for their recently launched label, Muzungu Sisters. (Muzungu is Swahili for traveller or wanderer.)
Alikhani (Iranian, raised in Cyprus) and Santo Domingo (Colombian/Brazilian, born in the United States) promote the work of local artisans with an eclectic collection that includes Moroccan Atlas boots, thread necklaces from Jaipur, alpaca sweaters from Cuzco, Balinese sarongs and Peruvian bolero jackets. You can find the treasures in their pop-up bazaar in Momo.
Or purchase them on their website, which launched today.
In case travelling as far as Mayfair isn’t your thing.
Available to 16 December, Monday-Friday, 10:30 a.m.-6 p.m., at Mo Cafe at Momo, 25 Heddon Street, W1B 4BH; online at muzungusisters.com, £35-£600.
