As philosophical vegetarians, we have all the right ideas (karma, low cholesterol) — just not enough willpower to actually resist eating meat.
Making it even harder is Meatliquor, opening today in Marylebone.
Yianni Papoutsis and Scott Collins form the duo behind Meat Wagon — the elusive food truck that became #MeatEasy, a dive bar/pop-up restaurant in New Cross that closed in April. This new West End space is permanent, but the focus is still on food over frills (expect kitchen roll instead of posh napkins).
Scan the menu for classics like a buffalo chicken burger, Philly cheese steak, and double-patty Dead Hippie burger made with 28-day-aged chuck steak and a secret sauce inspired by In-n-Out Burger in California. New additions include deep-fried pickles; currywurst; dirty fried chicken; pecan, coconut cream and Key lime pies; and jam jar cocktails.
We can’t help ourselves.
You might even say we’ve fallen off the vegan.
