What: The six-piece Portland ensemble plays songs from its newest release, We Are the Tide.
Why: Tunes like “Half Moon,” “Just One,” and “Keep You Right” woo listeners with a mellow Pacific Northwest sound.

Mt. Townsend Creamery

What: The Port Townsend-based cheese maker has quietly set up shop at Pike Place Market (the first tasting room in the city).
Why: Stop by to sample award-winning curds, including the earthy Seastack.
When: Tues.-Sat., 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

The Great Figgy Pudding Street Corner Caroling Competition

What: More than 30 teams from around the city sing their hearts out to benefit the Pike Market Senior Center & Downtown Food Bank.
Why: Top groups compete in a sing-off for bragging rights.
When: Fri., 5-8:30 p.m.
Where: Westlake Center, 400 Pine St.
