What do fuchsia suede, a rose gold zipper, and metallic trim make? The clutch of our dreams.
In other words, a Herringbone bag.
The joint venture from makeup artist Shawn Burke and boutique owner Camille Mason fuses form and function. Designed out of necessity (Burke noticed a makeup-bag-size gap in the market), the pouches come in appropriately named sizes: mini necessaire, necessaire, and clutch.
Equate the mini necessaire to a pint-size party girl, with a pleated top and room for the essentials (lipstick, ID, cell — check). The necessaire is just enough bag on its own (but fits tidily inside a larger purse); if bigger is better, opt for the oversize clutch. Find them all in new hues (from classic black for the office party to all-out golden glitz for the ball drop) just in time for the holidays.
They’re the handheld version of merry and bright.
Available at Dish Clothing, 541 Hayes Street, between Octavia and Laguna Streets (415-252-5997); Festoon Salon, 9 Claude Lane, at Bush Street (415-421-3223); online at herringbonebags.bigcartel.com, $120-$205.
