Less than a week into the New Year, and we’ve already gone soft.
Blame it on new NYC- and Paris-based cashmere line Les Valentines.
For their debut collection, design team Valentine Rémusat (Céline) and George Luong (Tse, Theory, Sonia Rykiel) revamped classic shapes and enlisted Parisian artisans to construct each piece from Mongolian cashmere.
Neutral colors (deep gray, Shetland blue) get pep from impeccable fit and details like nipped front hems, semisheer back knit panels, and handmade leather buttons.
Ease into the months ahead with a deep V-neck or a trompe l’oeil pullover sweater disguised as a cardigan. Georgette-backed dresses add zero bulk, so you can layer the caped kimono without looking like a sausage. Our favorite — a tuxedo jacket — is technically menswear, but who cares?
Time to cashmere in.
Available at Pas de Deux, 328 East 11th Street, between First and Second Avenues (212-475-0075 or pasdedeuxny.com), $120-$475.
