Pink Chicken Opens on the UES

Something to Cluck About

pink chicken opens!

You can call your bed head “beach hair” and pile on the bronzer, but you’re not fooling anyone. It’s still winter in the city.

If a hankering for the Hamptons hits early, take heart. Pink Chicken — our favorite source for patterned sundresses and pretty play clothes — just made the drive in from Amagansett. Its first Manhattan store opened last week on the UES.

The jewel box space beckons like your fantasy beach house, all whitewashed and weathered wood. Racks are brimming with the colorful spring/summer collection, including block-printed boho dresses and comfy knit separates, for babies, kids, tweens, and moms.

A curated selection of gift items also lines the shelves — Lucky Feather jewelry, Mini McGhee blankets, Rosie Flo coloring books, and P’kolino art supplies — plus beach trip essentials like Saltwater sandals and Gypsystyle bags.

So run a comb through it and head on over.

Pink Chicken, 1223 Madison Avenue, between East 88th and East 89th Streets (212-722-9090 or pinkchicken.com).
