Welcome to the Big (Cereal) Bowl game.
Notorious early-bird rivals Extreme Sugar Pops and Bland Health Nuggets have been going at it all morning, exchanging low (energy-crashing) blows and distasteful wallops.
Toss them both in favor of Lulu’s Essential Granola. Owner Alicia Jansen, a Telluride-by-way-of-Hawaii transplant, bakes and packages the powerhouse mixes in a vegan, gluten-free, and wheat-free certified kitchen in Ferndale.
Ingredients (dried fruits, ground flax, fresh nuts, agave, coconut oil, and oats) are premium quality and sourced locally whenever possible. (Fans with celiac and digestive sensitivities go wild.)
Two flavor-packed combos — goji, apricot, and cranberry; blueberry, ginger, and apricot — are ready for munching, and there’s a third, nut-free variety on the way. Jansen also has her sights set on a savory option.
Winners all around.
