Good news: You no longer have to strap a flask to your thigh when you go to the movies.
The newly revamped Logan Theatre has you covered.
A fully stocked bar proffers two Revolution Brewing beers on draft, 35 cans from around the Midwest, Koval Distillery whiskey, and wine. Yes, you can drink in the theaters. A roving bartender serves you while you wait in the lounge before your flick.
Instead of Sno-Caps, opt for Bobtail Ice Cream bars; Kim & Scott’s Gourmet Pretzels; and organic, locally made Paper Moon pastries (chocolate chip cookies, blueberry almond bars).
The decor is equally impressive. When gutting the interior, crews discovered stunning marble from the theater’s original build out. Now art deco accents abound (fully restored stained glass arch, decorative relief panel from 1915). Vintage movie posters take you back to the good ol’ days.
Tickets are $7 or less; screens have been refurbished; the seats are new and extra spacious.
Up next: midnight movies and indie films.
We’ll drink to that.
