Eat Food, Make Friends with SoupNextDoor

The ultimate dinner party

If online dating did the deed with dot-com dining — stay with us — the baby would probably resemble SoupNextDoor, a new dinner party site that aims to bring Chicago food lovers together by hooking them up via curated culinary adventures.

Founders (and former Department of Defense dudes) David Gunnoe and Matt Canterbury’s cupid plan is simple: Sign up, browse upcoming events, pay for your place, then show up to meet and eat.

SoupNextDoor chefs are mostly pros, but kitchen cooks can host, too (listing an event is free), catering to a variety of palates (vegetarian, kosher) and social circles. Keep your eyes peeled for a large outdoor BBQ from a well-known caterer and supper club (still hush-hush).

You never know whom you’ll meet.

Who knows? You might just click.

Subscribe online at soupnextdoor.com. Chicago subscribers, use coupon code CHICANDY10 through April 27 for 10 percent off any reservation.
