Last Chance Hamptons Guide

Now we're Montauking

last chance hamptons guide!

Just like that — it’s August. Make the most of summer’s end at our top new spots out east.

GRUB
From chef Chris Rendell and the team behind two of our favorite West Village haunts — Whitehall and Highlands — comes Byron at the Surf Lodge. Grab a deck seat, vodka-spiked ginger mint lemonade, and an order of fresh fish. Nearby, Swallow East’s dockside vibe and tapas/bar scene can’t be beat on lazy nights.

For a rowdier time (a.k.a. you’re rolling twenty deep), down the cornbread, local sea/soul food, and skillet sundaes at CowFish in Hampton Bays.

SHACK
Like Moonrise Kingdom IRL, the campy cabins, teepee lawn, food by The Fat Radish, and live music scene at Ruschmeyer’s are just as magical in their second year.

Keep an eye out for Tom Colicchio’s Topping Rose House. The renovated 19th-century mansion-turned-hotel is rumored to open in Bridgehampton later this month.

SHOP
Scout vintage home decor, antique and midcentury furniture, and new linens at impeccably outfitted Sag Harbor newcomer MONC XIII. Like a general store on acid, Maison 24’s eclectic mix of home goods, knickknacks, accessories, and clothing always surprises. New shops-in-shop from Warby Parker and menswear designer Parke & Ronen keep things fresh.

CELEBRATE
This weekend Escape to Montauk at Solé East. The fest includes art exhibits, live music, a synchronized swim performance, The Styleliner, and DJ sets from The Strokes’s Albert Hammond Jr. and Creep’s Lauren Dillard. R.S.V.P. to escape@soleeast.com. VIP wristbands ($20) are available at wanttickets.com.

See you at the beach.
