We’ve been like nosy neighbors snooping the goings-on at the gargantuan space near the New World Symphony. Boxes packed with high-end kitchen gadgetry, Lafco candles, Sun Bum sunscreen — this occupant has good taste.
Turns out, she’s the younger sister to Wynwood noodle bar Gigi.
This time around, Amir Ben-Zion erected a modern-day marketplace dubbed Cooper Avenue, with everything from Rony Tako-designed tees, music, Wi-Fi, and sundries (magazines, condoms), to Ginny Bakes gluten-free treats and Stumptown Coffee.
And did we mention the attached restaurant? Grab a Bar Lab-designed cocktail and a seat in a mismatched metal chair in the industrial dining room and look on as braised short ribs and mushroom broccolini risotto cook in the open kitchen.
We hear Cooper Avenue likes to party past midnight on weekends and has a 24-hour concept in the works.
