Set sail for Da Lobsta, a new crustacean station in the Gold Coast.
Surrounded by nautical paraphernalia (nets, buoys), you’ll feel worlds away from Chicago: Arthropods — lobster, blue crab, and shrimp flown in from the East Coast — take center stage, dressed in a variety of toppings.
Michael Taus (Zealous) consulted on a menu of rolls ranging from traditional Cape Cod style to far-flung: A Greek-inspired version comes stuffed with feta and tzatziki; mango chutney drapes an Indian rendition. Tucked inside buttery rolls, everything tastes good.
Lobster grilled cheese induces a spontaneous food coma. Same goes for the lobster mac, creamy noodles studded with crimson meat. Save room for New England clam chowder, too.
But don’t let the whoopie pies reel you in.
