We’ve long admired Jennifer Talbot’s playful approach to interior design. Think installation artist meets Martha Stewart meets giant felt board.

Her latest project, Sod Room, an eco-conscious play space in Chicago, has us green with envy.

Talbot built the eye-catching reception desk using repurposed textbooks and out-of-date pages from Encyclopaedia Britannica. Above the book nook of an entry hangs a light fixture covered with felt blossoms inspired by a flower arboretum.

Storage cubbies fashioned from recycled milk crates are perfectly sized to stash shoes and bags. And a pegboard makes the most of repurposed wine corks (ahem, who doesn’t have plenty of those?) with ends painted in primary colors.

But the pièce de résistance, an indoor swing covered in felt to resemble a vine wrapped with flowers, has us dreaming of 20-foot ceilings in our own home.
