Fourth Love Maternity Does Basics

Tees and dresses to get you through

fourth love maternity!

Our prescription for dressing a baby bump: muscle through the first trimester (hello, Bellaband), wear elastic-waist jeans into the ground for the second, invest in a few well-designed maternity pieces to bring it home.

And before things start getting really uncomfortable, add Fourth Love’s tops and dresses to the rotation.

Founder Susan Cho designed the capsule collection with a mom’s eye for comfort (she just had her second son) and the disciplined practicality of a media agency exec (her former gig). The results are clean, simple, and unfussy.

For each slouchy tee and cautiously clingy sundress, Cho chose a mid-weight knit (the better to stand up to body bulges and washing machines). And everything from the Breton-striped tunic to the work-appropriate blouse plays well with skinny belts (the better to fight pregnant-lady shapelessness).
Cho swears the pieces flatter post-baby bodies, too. But we’ll be just as happy if they pass the pay-it-forward test.

Available at 4thlove.com, $88-$178.
