Head to “Broad City”

Mess around with Comedy Central’s lady business

Two weeks ago we published our winter TV guide — but we left off one show (forgive us).

Broad City premieres tonight.

Real-life best friends and writing partners Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer play on-set best friends Abbi and Ilana (just a coincidence, we’re sure) in a half-hour comedy about being twentysomething and living in New York. Sound familiar? Though tonally similar to Girls, Broad City reminds us more of Seinfeld’s casual and indiscriminate dissection of minutiae.

Jacobson and Glazer met at a UCB improv class, began making a Web series of the same name in 2009, and have now scored a pilot on a mostly male-oriented network. The kicker? Amy Poehler is their executive producer.

In the series premiere, titled “What a Wonderful World,” Ilana finds out about a secret, pop-up Lil Wayne concert, and she and Abbi stop at nothing to scrounge up enough money for tickets. Check out the clip below.

Then set your DVR.

Broad City premieres tonight, at 10:30, on Comedy Central. For more clips, go to comedycentral.com. To watch the webisodes, go to broadcity.com.
