Above the Fold

News from the fashion world

above the fold!

Brought to you by the letter K.

• Well, it’s happened: the Kardashian Katwalk. Kendall Jenner made her runway debut last night at Marc Jacobs’s first post-Louis Vuitton show. We remember a time when he sent Kate Moss down the runway. (Telegraph)

• You’re not the only one who has had it up to here with this weather. Apparently, retailers are getting slammed by the polar vortex, too. (WWD)

• Models Nina Agdal, Lily Aldridge, and Chrissy Teigen nabbed the cover of the 2014 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, knocking reigning queen Kate Upton back a few pages. The new issue marks the concept’s 50th anniversary, and we can think of no better way to celebrate than with champagne and strategically placed hair. (Entertainment Weekly)

• We love to see life imitate art, so when we caught wind that Sarah Jessica Parker has been named guest editor of Nordstrom’s blog, The Thread, we immediately thought about you know what. (E Online)

• Speaking of, the last time a Vivienne Westwood dress got this much press, the groom got cold feet. We’re happy to report that frogs are cold-blooded, so Kermit’s pending marriage to longtime girlfriend Miss Piggy should go off without a hitch. (Stylist)

• Gilt Groupe is going international. The online retailer’s CEO discussed plans to launch sites in China, Mexico, and UAE to increase the company’s value before its IPO, rumored to happen later this year. Overseas shoppers (who bring in around 10 percent of the company’s revenue) can expect easier transactions, logistics, and a site that’s written in their native language. (Fashionista)
