Jonas Paul’s Glasses for Cool Kids

Frame their faces with sophisticated specs

Kids in glasses and Daniel Radcliffe have one thing in common: They’re tired of being called Harry Potter.

Look to Jonas Paul Eyewear for your child’s next frames. The start-up’s simple, sophisticated specs and sunglasses are a welcome change from cartoonish and character-driven styles.

Like Warby Parker, the company sends a slew of frames for free, so kids can decide which to keep (though prescription lenses are up to you). Ten percent each style’s price ($80) helps provide glasses to children in need. And an insurance plan for lost or broken glasses offers half off up to four replacements per year.

But it’s the company’s backstory that really gets us: Founders Ben and Laura Harrison were dismayed to learn that their newborn son, Jonas, had a rare disorder that limits his vision. Rather than feel helpless, they channeled their energy into creating a line of tease-proof glasses he can eventually wear.

A welcome act of wizardry.
