Carrying Her Tunes

Every day’s an endless stream of cigarettes and magazines.

Sound familiar? Ever strike you how some lyrics seem to have been written just for you? (Yes, they write them that way.) For Anna Lopriore, ex-fashion journalist, certain lines were so on-the-money that they begged to be singled out.

So she started stitching quotes from her favorite songs onto cotton tote bags. She chose lyrics ranging from Steely Dan’s “Rikki Don’t Lose That Number” to Grandmaster Flash’s “The Message,” and sewed them on in colors like pink, green, burgundy, grayish blue, and orange.

Special orders? Nope. Anna will only use lyrics that she chooses herself. (This isn’t BK — you cannot have it your way.) Still, with the eclectic selection, you’re bound to find one that resonates with you.

Like, say, this one from OutKast: Ain’t nobody dope as me, I’m dressed so fresh so clean.

We know you can relate to that one.
