The shame!
The other night a painfully cute waitress in a painfully cute getup did the unthinkable. She was prancing around taking orders with one white kneesock scrunched down to her ankles.
Can you imagine the humiliation? (As if white socks weren’t bad enough.) Really, if you’re going for the schoolgirl look, sloppy socks don’t make the grade. Which is what inspired Judi Rosen to create a line of charming-as-can-be adjustable garters.
The tiny elastic bands not only keep knee-highs in check but also add a little kick to the otherwise boring sock line. Garters come in in khaki, orange, pink, black, and blue and have a hand-painted flower on the clasp.
Socks not your thing? Wear the bands higher up then. One clever girl wore one around her wrist.
Easy. Even modest girls can wear garters.
