There’s never anything good on TV! It’s all so formulaic! My favorite show jumped the shark! Whine, whine, whine …
Everyone’s a critic. It’s easy enough to point the finger. Think you can do better?
Prove it.
The Sundance Channel is finally giving all us normal folks a chance to right today’s much-lamented small-screen wrongs. TV Lab, an open-entry television festival, invites you (yes, you!) to submit your concept for a TV show. That brilliant idea you’ve been telling your friends about? It could be the next Simpsons. But only if it’s nothing like The Simpsons, mind you. New ideas only here — not tired retreads of your old favorites. The wackier and more unusual your idea, the better its chances.
If you’re chosen, the Sundance Channel will help you create a production plan and shell out the dough to make a three- to seven-minute tour of your show, which they’ll air. Hey, it could be the beginning of a whole new career.
Not to mention — who knows? — a bold new era in television programming.
Deadline for TV Lab submissions is July 18. For more information and to
