Jewel of Denial

Sometime around the middle of February, after the sparkle of the new year fades, the backlash begins.

Winter’s long months stretch ahead, and all you can think about is warm breezes and balmy shores.

Some of us — specifically, those not lucky enough to have a reason to shop the resort collections — must find consolation. This year we’re taking it in the form of T-bags earrings and necklaces. The first jewelry pieces from the already popular line of handbags and clothing features exquisite pieces made from whisper-thin, translucent, hand-painted Capiz shells and eighteen-karat-gold-plated findings. In colors like melon, seafoam, or tangerine, each seems like a heaven-sent reminder of a more temperate season. Put one on and pretend it’s mid-June on some exotic beach.

Winter may be raging outside, but that doesn’t mean you can’t do your darnedest to make summer a state of mind.
