What Flor?

Never mind the comeback of fusion.

Why would you when there’s authentic Venezuelan fare at Flor’s Kitchen?

The West Village outpost of the East Village favorite took over the space recently vacated by the beloved Les Deux Gamins. (Quite the double dose of good karma.) The decor is simple — mahogany tables and chairs, oak bar, antique white walls, and exposed brick. The menu is traditional Venezuelan — dishes like arepas (cornmeal cakes filled with different combinations of shredded meats, vegetables, and cheese), ceviche de camarones (shrimp ceviche), pabellon criollo (beef, rice, plantains, and black beans), and pasticho con salsa guillermo (beef or vegetable lasagna).

The prices are extremely reasonable, which means you can sample as many things as you like.

Just in case you decide that a bit of mix and match isn’t such a crime after all.
