Frock of Ages

If your dresses could talk, they’d be giving you the business right about now.

“Um, HELLO! Remember us? The togs you spent $300 on and never, ever wear? The alluring garments you consistently pass over in favor of those ratty Levi’s and hoodies?”

And, to be honest, they’d have a point.

Leona Edmiston frocks may finally liberate you from your jeans-and-T-shirt uniform. The pieces are perfect for the girl who likes feminine but unfussy, stylish but not ickily trendy, and who appreciates the value of well-cut, well-constructed clothing. Slip one on and you’ll be amazed how well it hugs your curves. (Seriously. The hanger does not do it justice.) Made in stretch jersey, lightweight wool, and other fabrics, they suit every shape, from stick-thin to Rubenesque. Favorites (oh, how to choose?) include an adorable little black tee dress with a delicate crocheted insert; a tweedy A-line number with chocolate-brown trim; and a long, dramatic, V-neck gown.

Edmiston, already a legend in her native Australia (yes, she knows Naomi. And Russell), knows how to make women look good. Her attention to detail is evident in her flagship Montana shop, where she sells a selection of new and antique jewelry. And the environment is so pleasantly girlie (frocktails served daily!) that it truly gets you in the mood for a new look.

Because dresses should be worn, not heard.
