Sworn to Secrecy

There’s just one problem with having a job that requires you to share your amazing little finds.

After you out all the best places, you get to hear welcome news like “We can seat you at 5:30 or 10,” “We can fit you in for a Brazilian three weeks from Wednesday,” and “We’ll be getting a new shipment in six weeks.”

Nevertheless, we soldier on …

Alpha Bar, a swank lounge in the Inner Richmond’s Geary corridor, has just opened. It’s not exactly located in a raging nightlife enclave, but that’s precisely what makes it such a gem.

Flat-screen monitors and keyboards rest discreetly on low tables, so you can use the Internet to settle pop-culture disputes over lemon drop martinis. For the game-obsessed, there’s also a big-screen TV surrounded by cushy sofas.

Black leather, plush red, and mod white sofas pepper the interior. On Friday and Saturday nights, DJs spin while patrons turn the wide space in front of the bar into a kickin’ dance floor.

Just expect a line around the block. From now on, we certainly will.
