Bar Association

There are three distinct levels of cocktail culture.

First is the trend level, full of sour apple martinis and frozen mudslides. Women who drink at this level often wear large quantities of lipgloss.

The second is the classic level, with everything from mojitos to scotch on the rocks. Its members are generally reputed for their designer jeans.

Then there’s the third — and most revered — level: vintage cocktails. These are the drinks of artists, geniuses, and eccentrics.

And no one in town knows vintage cocktails like the B-Side Lounge. They’ve dedicated a new menu entirely to potables like crisp Chrysanthemums highlighted by a slick of Pernod. Or a Plymouth Gin Fix that, filled with shaved ice, is more akin to an adult snow cone. And you haven’t lived until you’ve had a real Manhattan; the bar staff at the B-Side uses the original 1874 rye whiskey recipe.

As for the preferred accessory of the vintage cocktails crowd: the drinks themselves, of course.
