The gym: a nice place to visit, but you wouldn’t want to live there.
You pay your dues, stop by every so often, say hi to the gang, sometimes even work out.
But many a day goes by when you’d rather just phone it in.
So do it. FitCalls with Eric the Trainer are on Mondays and Thursdays at 8:30 p.m. (PST), and you can seriously (or not so seriously) work out without even leaving the house. The only equipment you need is a yoga mat-type item (a towel will do — or, heck, just drag the duvet off the bed) and speaker phone or hands-free option on your cell. Then jump on a conference call with Eric, his protégé Alysia, and who knows how many other ladies from across the city and beyond.
For 45 minutes, Eric tells you to kick, lunge, crunch, swing, and stretch your way to what could be a fit new bod and a ramped-up metabolism. The easy movements are explained in plain English and there are lots of breathing reminders and mini breaks so you don’t collapse. He even throws in nutrition tips along the way.
Afterward, just hang up and get on with your day: take a shower, plop down in front of the tube, or even take a nap on the couch.
Looks like you may have found your true calling.
