A Mexican, a lawyer, and a blonde walk up to the pearly gates of heaven. Saint Peter says …
Oops, sorry. We can’t say — political correctness has got our tongue.
Gone are the days when it was fine to unabashedly insult someone’s nationality, appearance, or vocation in the sweep of a pseudo-religious joke.
And, overall, that’s a good thing. But for the occasional trip down off-color memory lane, get yourself a T-shirt from Vintage Vantage — makers of new yet old-looking shirts that are equally offensive to all. The designs range from a trio of lady joggers and the slogan “Women, you can’t beat ’em!” to a man in an Indian headdress saying, “I have reservations.” But the two dorky white people under the heading “Caucasia knows how to party!” may be our personal fave.
Aside from their original efforts, they also sell vintage tees, including an authentic Fraggle Rock top and the “Where’s the Beef?” lady. The site’s look, like its wares, recalls days of yore with sorbetish colors, liberal use of the word “fresh,” and men in pastel jumpsuits.
Luckily, it’s still okay to mock ’70s pimp culture.
