Want Hollywood to get more creative? Take matters into your own hands with a round of our favorite new parlor game, Halliwell’s. Named for the popular tome filled with brief synopses of just about every film ever made, it’s the latest version of Dictionary to come down the pike.

All you need: paper, pencils, and a movie book (you don’t have to use Halliwell’s, though it is a great option because it includes films not available on video or DVD). One person picks an obscure movie and reads the description to the group. Each player writes down a fake title to match the description; all the titles, including the real one, are read out loud and voted on. Each vote your fake answer gets earns you a point; the leader of the round gets two if no one guesses the actual title.

It’s harder than you think: Play with a bunch of industry types, and you may find yourself wanting to vote for every answer. Just remember: “All of the above” isn’t an option.

Now if only someone would pass that memo along to the studios.
