It takes a lot for a pair of jeans to impress us these days. With all the pretty frocks around for spring we’d just about written off the old dungaree.

And then a pair of perfectly fitting J Brand jeans walked into our lives. The stretchy (but not too stretchy) fit miraculously turned our bottom half into our better half. Not to mention that the selection of washes — ink, gray, vintage, dark blue, and spot-on-for-spring white — are some of the best around.

For a skinny jean try the 912 and 914. Or, if the tapered look isn’t your thing, slip into a pair of slightly flared 1018s (circa ’72) or midrise 814s. Whichever style you choose, the straightforward cuts are sure to leave you wanting more. As for all those other brands out there? Just ignore them.

You know, survival of the fittest.
