Teen Aged

Neither rain nor sleet nor very bad press can curb your obsession.

You yearn for her hairband, her sunglasses, her toenails. You want to know her. No, you want to be her.

If you haven’t already heard (extremist worshippers have been spreading the word with gusto), a new altar dedicated to the goddess that is Kate Moss has been erected.

Today Gimpel Fils gallery celebrates the humble beginnings of Moss’s career with a show of photographs taken fifteen years ago by Corinne Day, the photographer most often credited with putting the Croydon teen on the route to mega-stardom — long before the days of heroin chic (or cocaine chic, for that matter).

First seen in The Face  in 1990, they’re simple, gritty, gawky shots that capture her innocence and charm. And with only ten works, the show is the perfect way to get a quick fix.

See? You and Kate have more in common already.
