Woodstock. Coachella. Lollapalooza.
It’s a safe bet that if you play it, they will come.
Which is exactly what’s expected at the newly opened Lakeview Broadcasting Co. Stephen Westman (Hard Rock Hotel) and Paul Blair (Celebrity) have gutted the divey Bangkok Restaurant and turned it into a lounge/shrine to all things musical.
The narrow, bi-level space has an old-school flair, from ’80s-style boom boxes lining the walls to a shag-carpeted glass box where model types veg out and play their own tunes (think L.A.’s Standard Hotel). Staff tees were designed by Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz. And the DJ booth is set back so Mr. DJ can keep an eye on the crowd as he spins everything from Stevie to Kanye to Depeche Mode.
It’s the perfect spot to sip a cocktail or have some fun eats (PB&J maki, hoisin-glazed meat loaf, taffy apple salad). Just go early enough to score a seat. This place will likely draw a crowd.
Music, after all, makes the people. Come together.
