Donna, Donatello, Diane. Enough with the D designers.
Give us an N.
As in Nirva, the young Massachusetts College of Art designer who’s setting racks on fire with her filmy frocks and lace overlays.
Based out of her Lexington studio, the single-named dynamo sketches and cuts by hand, carefully shaping pieces for the perfect fit. When she needs a hand, she gets one from her mom, who works as a tailor next door. (How cute is that?)
Nirva’s signature spring looks include dainty pink silk kimono blouses, diaphanous jet wraps, and jewel-encrusted halters paired with grass-green embroidered pleat skirts. She’ll craft one-of-a-kind garments if you want them. Femininity, beadwork, and opulent, saturated fabrics are her trademark, inspired by the people and countries she’s visited throughout the years.
Which brings us right back to D. For delightful.
Nirva, 1628 Massachusetts Avenue, Lexington (781-888-0515). By appointment only.
