Think Globally, Play Locally

When you’re little, the world seems like a very big place. No better time to start teaching your kid about the wonders of the larger universe.

Get it going for 3- to 6-year-olds with a colorful felt wall map, complete with 181 pieces that depict everything from the Great Wall to game animals.

Encourage 7- to 10-year-old explorers with rich pictures of glaciers, oceans, and lava in Scholastic Atlas of the Earth.

Budding Vasco da Gamas will love the Odyssey III Talking Globe, which shares bits about cities, currencies, and climate.

The well-traveled set (yes, visits to Grandma’s absolutely do count) can track destinations and friends in faraway places on National Geographic’s brightly colored map.

Whether your kid will become a rock-star geologist or a poli-sci scholar is anybody’s guess.

At least she’ll have the world at her fingertips.
