The Mission is known for some pretty fantastic things: a mean burrito, perfect piñatas, stellar vintage — oh, and high-end handbags.
Wait, what? Since when?
Since designer Rebecca Ciccio launched her new line of carryalls, handmade right here in our fair city.
Choose from styles like the Madison Nailhead (black, white, olive, or brown leather shoulder bag with brass or nickel studs), Madison Braid (a suede or leather purse in a bevy of colors with a braided leather strap), and Baywood (a simple suede hobo — in teal it’s a real stunner).
Ciccio has thought about function as well as form. Details like pretty satin lining, a cell phone pocket, zippered compartments, and magnetic closure help keep you organized. The bags are timeless, so you’ll want to keep them around for years to come. Long enough, perhaps, to make them vintage.
And, you know, bring things full circle.
Available at Dress, 2271 Chestnut Street, at Scott Street (415-440-3737); Two Skirts, 2124 Chestnut Street, between Steiner and Pierce Streets (415-441-6727). To see styles or order online, go to rebeccaciccio.com.
