Another Saturday night and nothing to do. There’s a band playing up the street, but you’ve never heard of them.

The brainchild of Taylor McKnight and Daniel Westermann-Clark — two music lovers on a mission — the site pairs concert listings around the country with the bands’ MP3s. So rather than doing the leg work to find out if you like the sound of, oh, say, Pretty Girls Make Graves playing at the El Rey, just head to Podbop and have a listen.

Podbop tags all the music-related events on Eventful.com and since its launch in early ’06 has added more than 2,000 bands and 3,000 MP3s to its database. Just search by city (which makes it a great tool for you big traveling types) and then podcast or download the tunes right to your desktop.

And lay waste to another boring weekend.
