Taster’s Choice

This city is full of work hard, play hard types.

We applaud them (from our couch). And we recognize a good one when we see her.

Case in point: Jennifer Lynn, a young, ambitious science philosophy grad who builds supercomputers by day and creates nine-course tasting menus by night. Customized smorgasbords (assembled in your home, for two to twelve guests) are inspired by your answers to a series of questions about favorite food memories (mom’s PB&J with the crust cut off).

For anniversaries, she’ll work in first date reminiscences (it was love at cured meats). For birthdays, favorite ingredients. For baby showers, themes. Basically, whatever you have a soft spot for, Lynn will incorporate into her menu (in the French technique) and pair with wine.

Favorites include a tasting of quail eggs, rabbit ragout, and brioche French toast. She’ll do simple or grandiose, depending on your tastes and budget.

At the end of the evening, she’ll even hand out parting gifts (handmade chocolates, fresh granola).

The only thing she won’t do? Kick your guests out when you’re dying to get to bed.

You’re on your own there.
