Cocoa Loco

You and chocolate have always had a special relationship. (When you were a kid, it took the hit for cavities. Now it puts in overtime on lonely nights.) But, lately its hoity-toity cacao percentages and fancy single-origin estates have left you feeling cold.

Reconnect with your best pal by enlisting cocoa tutor Karletta Moniz to help throw a chocolate tasting. With a selection of bars from around the globe, including Bernard Castelain (France), El Rey (Venezuela), and Slitti (Italy), as well as from producers closer to home, like Scharffen Berger and Michael Recchiuti, Moniz will come to your house and set up a flight of five chocolates for your guests.

Get touchy-feely with the sweet stuff (see it, smell it, hear it) to find out how dark is too dark, why it’s worth shelling out ten bucks for a piece of Pierre Marcolini, or why a Hershey’s bar is better for baking than straight scarfing.

There’s an eight-person minimum and twenty-person max, and costs may vary since each session is tailored to your specific palate.

And guaranteed to give you a taste of the sweet life.
